Summer is here...
The first half of 2010 is already behind us, a brilliant 6 months for Lily Pins, including of course, Jenny's exciting seminar with ex Dragon Doug Richard.
The event "Perfect Your Pitch", held at the University College of London gave Jenny the opportunity to retell her journey to a live audience; her appearance was also broadcast worldwide on S4STV. Doug praised both Jenny and Lily Pins, and the live Twitter stream on show was full of positive comments and raised the big question of investment; we are delighted to announce we are currently in talks with potential investors.

Lily Pins Continues to Grow!

We found ourselves beginning the month, with new staff and yet another new home. Lily Pins acquired its 11th Home in Braintree this month. We are looking forward to working alongside Jane Billingham and her team at Longmead Court, a 54 bed nursing home.
We are also very excited to welcome the latest new members of team Lily Pin: Karen Markham - Karen is an experienced qualified hairdresser and is also fully qualified in Dementia care. With several years of experience under her belt, she is a welcome asset to the company. Eve Smith - Although a newly qualified hairdresser, Eve has worked for many years in the care sector and is enjoying working with Karen as our salon assistant at Mulberry Court, Luton. The new two are proving to be a great team.
Our new members of staff had an early claim to fame when they were interviewed by BBC 3 Counties Radio, whilst working in Mulberry Court this week. Look out next week for the Lily Pins feature on www.bbc.co.uk/threecounties

Alzheimers Society - Dementia Awareness Week 4 -10 July 2010
Lily Pins were invited by the Harlow branch of the Alzheimer's Society to attend their Dementia Awareness Day at St Andrew's Church. Paula went along with lots of literature about Lily Pins and enjoyed chatting to visitors. Managing Director Jenny is looking forward to visiting 5 new "Memory Cafes" throughout Hertfordshire during the summer to meet carers and sufferers alike, promoting our new service "Lily Pins in the Community". We are happy to be working with a likeminded organisation such as the Alzheimer's Society, who help improve the lives of people living with Dementia. We hope that our new alliance with them will enable Lily Pins to provide their services to more and more people affected by Dementia.
